Polecat was formed out of Omaha’s Gravy Train and -ismist’s Hour Slave. For the first year of their existence, they practiced under their college dormitory’s cafeteria (the same dorm that -ismist started in, actually), in a practice room originally designed for piano and vocals only. Needless to say, the band drew a lot of attention from people trying to concentrate on ANYTHING but the crap that was slung onto their trays at “mealtime.” Vocalist Ted Stevens has gone on to be in Lullaby for the Working Class and Cursive.
