Pop Sickle was originally formed as a studio project. It contained Rob Skinner, formerly of famed Seattlepunk band, Coffin Break. This band is not about subtle grooving, but pop hooks large enough to give Japanese whale-fishermen fits. The sound is somewhere in between the Buzzcocks furious playing and Squeeze’s pop sensibilities. The songs were written while the band resided in rural Missouri, and hit squarely on the seemingly midwestern subject matter of small town/small mind.
